The Local Payroll Customer Support Service currently provides local payroll services to approximately 10,000 VA employees including those in the Austin area, VACO, OI&T stations, and all of NCA. In support of the Payroll Modernization initiative, the Payroll Support Division includes the Local Payroll Customer Support Service which serves as the Customer Service Representative (CSR) for the Department of Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS), and Payroll Support Service (formally known as Nationwide Payroll) that transitioned into a Payroll Tier 1 Service Desk to support all of the VA CSRs.
Our experience has not only made us unique, but also the payroll provider of choice. We were the largest civilian payroll provider supporting one of the most complex pay groups - Title 38 employees (civilian doctor and nurses.)
